What has been filmed at Ashridge House?

Ashridge House has been used in a number of productions, including The Crown (2022), seasons of Pennyworth (2022), The Dirty Dozen (1967), a Skepta (2021) music video. Our staircase in the main hall was also inspiration for Hogwarts staircase in Harry Potter (they took a mould of our actual staircase!). The ‘Whomping Willow’ seen in the Harry Potter movies was also located nearby. Sadly it fell down in June 2014 under the strain of its own weight and old age.

Are dogs allowed at Ashridge House?

Dogs are allowed in the courtyard, in specific rooms of the Bakehouse café, and in the gardens on a lead. Due to the upscale atmosphere of The Vault cocktail bar, we do not allow dogs or muddy boots inside those spaces. For weddings, we know that your pup is family, so they can of course join your wedding ceremony at Ashridge with a chaperone.

Do we need to use your recommended supplier list?

For both weddings and conferences we have a highly selective list of recommended suppliers. They understand and respect the and also ultimately hold the same values and standards that we set for Ashridge House. While you are not required to use our suppliers, we do request that your suppliers meet certain insurance requirements so please speak with your coordinator when planning.
