Celebrating International Women’s Day at Ashridge House

Celebrating International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. We asked our awesome girlpower Ashridge House Events Team what International Women’s Day means to them:

What’s your International Women’s Day message?

“Although there have been magnificent milestones within this movement in my lifetime alone, there is still so far to go. My message would be to continue to actively make your environment a safe space for every woman in every sense of the word. Women should feel safe to have their own thoughts, to speak their mind and to feel like they can be themselves unapologetically.”

Ella Robjant-Boyd, Wedding & Events Sales Executive

Why do you support women’s empowerment and gender equality?

Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world.  My hopes for the future are for all girls and young women to have an education, no matter where in the world you live, and for more women to serve in parliament and positions of leadership

Natalie Halliwell-Jennings, Events Marketing Manager

What’s your International Women’s Day message?

“Empower each other, respect each other and most of all be proud of who you are!”

Annie Tolputt, Wedding & Events Sales Executive

Can you share a women’s empowerment moment that inspired you from working at Ashridge House over the last year?

“No specific moment, just generally proud to work alongside a creative, inspiring, strong and hardworking team of women who have been faced with many adverse situations this past year and but pulled together and kept cool, calm and collected (most of the time!)”

Isabel Harvey, Events Team Manager
