Ronnie Wood at Ashridge House

August 2020

Ashridge House and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood have raised £23,000 for the NHS after collaborating on a unique exhibition of Ronnie’s paintings in the grandest style at Ashridge House last year and donating 100% of the ticket proceeds to the NHS.

Ronnie Wood and Ashridge House have selected the helipad appeal at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital as their chosen NHS charity as there is currently no helipad providing direct access to the hospital and no 24/7 helipads specifically for Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

The critically acclaimed Ronnie Wood x Ashridge House exhibition, created to celebrate the NHS in a very difficult year, showcased an incredible collection of original artworks by Ronnie including some of his most treasured paintings, a series of sculptures and a selection of etchings within the extraordinary interiors of Grade I listed Ashridge House. Ronnie’s artwork is widely collected throughout the world and tickets for the exhibition sold out within hours of release.

Many of the artworks were previously unseen as the exhibition included many new pieces produced during the first lockdown, a hugely productive time for Ronnie, producing 20 new artworks including four beautiful paintings of Ashridge House and its spectacular grounds.

Ronnie has now generously donated his four beautiful paintings of Ashridge House and its spectacular grounds to the house, so they can be permanently displayed in the house along with a remarkable new large-scale tapestry of Ronnie’s original painting interpreting the iconic Beggar’s Banquet album that now hangs in the imposing entrance of Ashridge House for visitors to view.
