Artist Statement

South Africa born, Veda Hallowes is an established London based sculptor who uses fruits as a metaphor for the female body. Her tactile pieces embody fertility, sensuality, and humour. Veda is a Member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and has exhibited widely finding clients delighting and collecting her work globally.

Working almost exclusively in bronze, her sculptures are seductive and welcoming yet carry an underlying message.Her creativity has been enriched by the experience of living and working in South Africa, Peru, Hong Kong and Pakistan. Veda’s present creative focus is on reactions to COVID -19, thinking about seeds of change.

Veda Hallowes exhibits regularly throughout the world. She has exhibited at the RA Summer Show, and has been featured on the BBC Culture Show.
